It may be a long drive from Southeast Minnesota, but the incredible views and breath-taking scenery make a trip to Bear Head Lake State Park worth it in the winter.

While boating, hiking, and fishing are all popular in the summer, once the snow falls at Bear Head Lake State Park, it becomes a place of relaxation and an opportunity to see beautiful snow-covered trees.

According to Only In Your State, the park's four lakes become beautiful once the snow falls down.

"In the summertime, the park's most popular activities are boating, fishing, swimming, and hiking. While most of those are not possible in the winter, the park's four lakes are full of beautiful, snowy scenery."

The Bear Head Lake State Park is located near Ely, Minnesota and because of its close proximity to the bounty waters it often gets overlooked, but the incredible views and relaxing atmosphere in the winter make it a must-see for all Minnesotans.

In the winter, you can snowshoe across the entire 4,300 square foot park and check out the peace and quiet on the frozen lakes or the spectacular wildlife in the area. While I haven't been there personally, it is on my bucket list of places to check out.

There are so many great State Parks right here in Minnesota and each one has something special to check out. This one, in particular, looks like a lot of fun, especially in the winter. There is something I just love about snow-covered trees. The views are truly like nothing else.
