Rochester, MN ( KROC AM News) - Heavy rain, a snowstorm and thunderstorms are in Minnesota’s weather forecast for the final weekend of March.

A spring storm is expected to begin impacting Minnesota Friday night and before it leaves it could dump up to 3 inches of rain in southwestern areas of the state and up to 6 inches of snow in the Arrowhead region.

The National Weather Service also says a few strong to isolated severe thunderstorms are possible Saturday afternoon in parts of northeast Iowa and far southwest Wisconsin.

The Weather Service is warning this could lead to flooding in some areas:

With rivers already running high after recent rainfall, additional rises are expected with flooding possible in some spots.
