Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A fast-moving series of storm cells hit southeast Minnesota Tuesday, bringing some much-needed rain but also knocking out power to hundreds of homes and businesses and causing hail and wind damage.

Rochester Public Utilities reported around 4500 customers were without power after the storm hit and all its repair crews were sent to restore service.

The official Rochester rainfall at the city airport was a record 1.41 inches - nearly twice the amount recorded there during the previous three weeks. Totals in the city were generally around an inch. The Dover/Eyota area in eastern Olmsted County received nearly 3 inches.

There will be chances of more rain all week.
