Superman was created by two Cleveland high school kids and first published by DC Comics in June 1938. DC set his birthday as February 29th.

Over the years he's been played by a number of actors. Henry Cavill is the current Man of Steel, facing Ben Affleck in the upcoming Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. In theaters March 25th!

My son, Justin and I are huge fans of Tom Welling as the teenage Clark Kent on the CW's Smallville. I guess there's something about trying to fit in and create an identity that my son identifies with.

Christopher Reeve was my Superman, when I was my son's age.

A few years ago, when I had more hair...I got to meet Margot Kidder, Lois Lane from the Christopher Reeve Superman films. She was travelling with Reeve's Superman suit. She told me that one guy had come up to her and proposed! I just smiled, mumbled that I was a huge fan and asked for a picture and an autograph. She was incredibly gracious. So, that's one thing checked off my bucket list...
