Trouble Sleeping? Something In Your Office Could Maybe Help…
It is probably something you take for granted if you have it, or something you never thought about if you didn't. We don't have one here in the Y105 studio, but other rooms in the building do. It's impossible to have them everywhere, so many of you are stuck without one as Tom, Brent and I are! What is it?
How Often Should You Wash Things?
I confess, I am a bit of a clean freak. For the most part, I have to clean things, like my car, my sheets, my carpets, the fridge... often. Not all that long ago, I posted about jeans, and that the CEO of Levi's has mentioned that we should not wash our jeans. What about our sheets, our furniture, or even, bras?
A Kid In MN’s Largest Candystore
What do pickle bandages, mullet mints, pina colada licorice, bacon frosting, pie, m &m's, and jalapeno pickled eggs have in common? They can all be found at this store in Minnesota, and I went there just yesterday with my mom. Want to take a look at some of the cool things they have? We were like kids in a huge candy store! (Oh yeah, we actually were kids in a candy store.)
Michael Buble & Sam, The 15 Year Old Who Can Sing!
I was 'feelin' good' after watching this! Michael Buble is a bit of a wild good guy, but he took the time out of his concert to honor this moms request and took a 15 year old up on stage.
Birds On A Wire Set To Music [Video]
Music is absolutely everywhere, and birds are quite musical. Yes, they chirp, sing their songs, make their noises, and often it just goes in one of our ears and out the other, because we are so used to it, yet its very cool. If you take the worm eating part out of a birds gig, they are a pretty cool creature in my humble opinion.
Did You See The Human Hampster Balls At The Fair?
This looked like so much fun. As I was walking around at the Olmsted County fair this weekend I happened upon this cute little attraction/event/activity or whatever you would consider it. For a minute or two, I thought, you know what, I want to do that! Then I realized I was probably too big and I went on my merry way towards the deep-fried pickles.
Crime Will Never Make You Whole – The Police Form One Republic That Is Counting Stars & Playing Them On TV [Video]
No more violent summers - they're all made of stars. The Police Department from a city similar in size to Rochester decided to make their own version of the One Republic song Counting Stars. It had to be fun for them to create.
Radar Picks Up Mayfly Swarms Off To Our East Near LaCrosse & The Mississippi
It may be nearly the end of July, but the 'MAY' flies are swarming just to our east. This radar image is from Sunday night and shows the massive amount of mayflies as they emerged from the Mississippi river. This phenomenon is not new, as it happens just about every year, still, think about how amazing it is that those bugs are so thick and the infestation so massive it can be detected on a radar
It’s Fair Time Rochester
The Olmsted County Fair is ON until July 27th. I haven't had a chance to get out to the Olmsted fair yet, but I plan to this weekend. It got started this year during a really hot time. By the time I get there it won't be quite as hot and sticky, knock on wood. It's shaping up to be a perfect weekend weather-wise. Who is going yet?
We Have A Corn Cob. They Have Ketchup. Theirs Is For Sale.
Ah yes, Rochester's Corn Cob. It's pretty neat, and as far as I know, we are one of the only places, if not the only place that has one. The Corn Cob Water tower is part of the old Libby Foods facility, now Seneca Foods and serves not only as a conversation piece but a landmark.
