Well, this is better than a really harsh winter, right? We usually know what our summers are going to be like here in the Northland.
We can all agree that they are way too short, they go by way too fast and we don't have months and months of hot summer temperatures.

Aside from these very well-known facts, weather folklore says we might be able to see how a future summer will roll out.
Of course, you have to take all of these little pieces of folklore with a grain of salt because they are, well, folklore.
How To Tell If A Harsh Summer Is On The Way In Minnesota
There are a handful of ways that you might be able to gauge how hot this summer is going to be, or how rainy it is going to be in the Duluth area.

It should also be noted that the Old Farmer's Almanac released their predictions for our region this summer and they are predicting a 'scorching' summer ahead for us. You better get out that sunblock.
Look Out For Crickets And Rain On Specific Days In Minnesota
Oddly enough, most of this folklore has to do with rain on a specific day before summer or during summer. I was surprised at how much of it all revolved around rain, which I personally don't mind.

Other pieces of weather folklore have to do with crickets, which give me the creeps, and the spring season in Duluth.
