Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  It was a wild scene on Rochester’s South Broadway Sunday night and police say it’s fortunate no one was hurt.

Police Captain John Sherwin says two SUV’s were spotted ramming a car and shots were also fired at the vehicle as it sped north on Broadway in the vicinity of the county fairgrounds around 7:30 p.m at about 80 mph.

Sherwin says the incident had its beginnings in the parking lot of the Pure Pleasure store in Stewartville .That’s where a 21-year-old Rochester woman made contact with a man she knows. She later left with two passengers, a 23-year-old man and a 15-year-old girl and drove back to Rochester.

The woman says while near 28th Street in the south Walmart store area, a white SUV suddenly pulled in front of her, forcing her to stop. She says the man she had met earlier also pulled up behind her car and boxed her in. The woman says when a man in the white SUV got out and began approaching her car, she decided to drive away. That’s when the drivers of both SUVs began chasing her, taking turns ramming her car as she decided to go to the Law Enforcement Center.

The woman says 5-6 shots were fired at her car and at least one struck the vehicle before she was able to make it to the LEC. Sherwin says officers located the white SUV and arrested the suspected driver, 27-year-old Kristian Miranda.

Sherwin says the three people in the car were shaken up but not hurt. He says the wild chase was witnessed by several people who called 911.

He says the motive for the incident is unknown at this point.
