According to their website, HOURCAR is a local nonprofit car-sharing organization that currently serves the Twin Cities area with more than 60 vehicles that members can reserve as short term rentals. The car sharing service is expanding to Rochester on December 9th.

Members will be able to reserve one of five cars that will be parked in ramps or lots downtown. HOURCAR says they "are an important cog in an equitable and efficient multimodal urban transportation system."

This could be a great option for Mayo employees who ride the bus in and might need a vehicle to run an errand or two during the middle of the day. Users can rent the vehicles for as long as 72-hours or as little as one half hour. Wondering about who pays the gas or how the insurance works? You can learn all about HOURCAR on their website.
