**UPDATE: Joy has been adopted! If you're looking to adopt, please consider another cat (or dog) at Paws and Claws. They have lots of great animals who deserve a good home.

Paws and Claws Humane Society in Rochester, Minnesota takes in many cats and dogs but also does a great job finding them forever homes. Sadly sometimes it can take a while to find that perfect home and that's the case for this cat named Joy. She's been at Paws and Claws since 2020. Let's see if we can find her forever home!

We've successfully done this once before! Remember Scout and Jem?

I wrote a story about them in the middle of January. They needed a special home because they were an inseparable pair who needed a home together but one has FIV and the other doesn't. Well, I got an email from Paws and Claws just over a week after sharing their story saying a woman in Maple Grove saw my post and came to adopt the two. That makes me so happy! Hopefully we're able to help another pet who is also deserving of a good home.

Joy's Story

Joy is a young Tortoiseshell cat, according to Paws and Claws she's about 2 years and 3 months old. She's very cute with the classic Tortie coloring of black with some orange splotches. She was found outside in November of 2020 laying in a window well. The person who found her thought she was dead at first. Joy was brought to a different rescue and eventually, she ended up at Paws and Claws.

Joy is cute, once she knows someone she likes to rub on their leg, she likes to play, and she enjoys snuggling with the kittens at the shelter. However, it seems people have passed up on her because she has the classic "Tortitude". In other words, Tortoiseshell cats can be known to have a little attitude. She can be "both shy and feisty" and sometimes if you reach to pet her she'll swat. So, as Paws and Claws mentions, she would do best in a home familiar with "Tortitude". Regardless of her little attitude, she still deserves a good home and she's been at Paws and Claws for a very long time compared to others.

Hopefully Joy is able to find the perfect home soon! And a huge shout out to all of you for sharing my first story about Scout and Jem and helping them find a home.
