It’s called the Christmas Pizza Train, and it’s part of the same lineup of holiday rides on the Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad that includes the Holiday Wine Train, which features an adults-only lounge car offering wine flights, appetizers, and quiet winter views.
Here's What to Expect on the Christmas Pizza Train in Wisconsin
The Pizza Train offers a kid-friendly take on the same festive experience, swapping charcuterie boards for pizza boxes and replacing toasts with visits from Santa.
The two-hour ride gives families a chance to share a meal and meet Santa while taking in the Northwoods scenery. Each family of up to six people gets a private dining compartment, while larger groups are seated at nearby tables in traditional dining or lounge cars.
Tickets include a personal pizza, your first beverage, and a holiday cookie with hot chocolate on the return trip. During the ride, kids can visit Santa in his private railcar, take photos, and enjoy the decorations and music that fill the train from end to end.
The Christmas Pizza Train runs Saturdays and Sundays from November 15 through December 21, with departures at 11 a.m., 2 p.m., and 5 p.m. Tickets are $50 for adults and $40 for kids (ages 2–12).
Organizers say the event fills up quickly each year, so reservations are recommended. Trains depart from N6639 Dilly Lake Road in Trego, Wisconsin.
