Isle, MN (KROC AM News) - A Twin Cities area family was killed in a traffic wreck Saturday east of Lake Mille Lacs.

The State Patrol says a small SUV driven by a 45 year old Columbia Heights man lost control on a wet and snow packed highway and  ended up sideways in the opposite lane. The vehicle was then struck by a larger SUV.

The Columbia Heights man, his 40 year old wife, 14 year old daughter and 12 year old son were killed.Their names have not been released yet.

The driver of the other vehicle was identified as 26 year old Nicholas Meyer of McGregor. He and two of his four passengers suffered serious injuries.

The wreck happened on Highway 65 near the town of isle around 3 p.m.
