Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - It’s probably too soon to declare any trends, but Olmsted County Public Health Information Officer Kari Etrheim today shared some more hopeful statistics concerning the coronavirus in the Rochester area.

The testing being conducted locally identified only four new COVID-19 cases yesterday while the number of people who have recovered from the illness rose by 7 to 88 and the number of currently active cases declined by 3. Overall, Olmsted County has seen 147 confirmed coronavirus cases and 2 deaths from COVID-19.

Etrheim also noted the collaborative coronavirus testing station run by Public Health at Graham Park was able to handle a substantial spike in traffic yesterday without straining the operation. It didn’t open until noon due to the snowstorm that hit Sunday and the demand for tests resulted in the staff handling 60 patients during a single hour.
