COVID-19: Another Rochester Senior Center Reports Confirmed Case
St Paul (KROC AM News) - Another Rochester senior living center has reported a confirmed COVID-19 case.
The Minnesota Dept of Health Friday included Shorewood Commons on its list of congregate care facilities with confirmed cases.
Mayo Clinic’s Charter House was added to the list earlier. Mayo said the Charter cases did not involve residents. Two other Rochester facilities were added to the list earlier this month.
The Health Department’s new report shows two milestones since it started tracking the virus last month - the number of confirmed cases has gone over 2,000 and the number of deaths has surpassed 100.
The report shows 159 new cases have been confirmed, increasing the total to 2071. The death total increased by 17 from Thursday to reach 111.
Two of the latest deaths came from Winona County, increasing its total to eight. Rice County reported its first death.
The report indicates the state has now confirmed more than 43,000 tests.
