COVID-19: Nearly 90,000 Tests in Minnesota; Almost 8000 Positive
St Paul (KROC AM News) - The number of COVID-19 tests in Minnesota is approaching 90,000 and the number of positive cases has risen to nearly 8,000.
There were 617 new positive cases reported Monday and nearly 2100 more tests.
The latest daily report from the Minnesota Department of Health shows 27 more deaths were confirmed Monday, increasing the running total to 455. The report shows 23 of the newest deaths involved residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. The number of deaths in that category has risen to 368.
The number of COVID-19 patients who needed hospitalization has risen to 1350 and 434 of the patients are still in the hospital. There were also 182 patients in intensive care, an increase of 16 from the previous report.
