Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The coronavirus activity being detected by testing in Olmsted County remains stable.

The figures reported by Olmsted County Public Health show the number of people who've recovered from COVID-19 has grown at a slightly faster pace than the number of new cases for several straight days. There were 6 new confirmed cases reported today, increasing the overall total to 153, while the overall number of active cases dropped to 58. At the same time, the number of individuals listed as recovered from the illness grew by another 7 to 95.

Public Health Information Officer Kari Etrheim says the agency, along with the Mayo Clinic, Olmsted Medical Center, and other organizations conducted a tabletop exercise to update existing plans for a possible stand-alone triage center to handle COVID-19 patients and made a determination that it is not currently needed. Etrheim says it has to be viewed as a positive that both the Mayo Clinic and the Olmsted Medical Center believe their facilities can handle the current patient load and what is being projected at this time.
