Dave’s Top 5: What Makes Me Happy?
You've heard of Christmas In July, but what about Thanksgiving In July?
On a scale from one to 100, how happy are you?
Yesterday, I was telling you about how science crunched some numbers, and for the first time since 2008, we've hit an all time low. On a scale from one to 100, the average person's happiness is at a 31. That's pretty bad. So far, 2016 seems like a pretty depressing year, with one tragedy after another. But the upside is that even though that number is low, 72% asked say that things will get better. So, we're all still pretty optimistic.
That got me thinking: What makes me happy? I'm a pretty basic and simple guy. Most guys aren't that complex. It's the simple stuff that makes me happy.
Here are my Top 5 Things That Make Me Happy. What makes you happy? I'd love for you to share yours in the comments.
There's nothing like
flying- - I mean, motoring at a responsibly safe speed down the road - - with the windows rolled down and the wind running across my scalp, listening to a great song.
I love a good comedy. From Mel Brooks to Simon Pegg, Will Ferrell to Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. My go-to comedies have kind of changed over the years from Blazing Saddles to the Airplane! movies.
My wife's a great cook. So, I go for "comfort food", like biscuits and gravy or a brat hot off the grill with a cold beer. Don't even get me started on a pork chop sandwich or ribs!
No matter how hard my day is, there is always somebody glad to see me when I get home. Mainly because I spoil her.
I don't have too many bad days. When I have a bad day, my wife and kids are right there to turn it around.
