Minnesota Deputy Injured After Car Slams into Squad SUV at Crash Scene Along I-94 (Video)
Evansville, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Minnesota sheriff’s deputy was brought to a hospital after a car smashed into his squad SUV at a crash scene.

A news release issued by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says the deputy was inside of the law enforcement vehicle at the time of the collision.
The crash happened shortly before 10:00 Sunday night on Interstate 94 about 15 miles northwest of Alexandria.

A westbound car traveling at interstate speeds crashed into the back of the stopped squad car, which was at the scene of a prior crash involving a single vehicle that had entered the median and collided with the cable barriers, the news release says.
Authorities say the squad’s emergency lights were active and that the deputy had deployed multiple roadside flares to alert westbound motorists to the upcoming hazard.
The State Patrol report on the incident identified the deputy as 23-year-old Aaron Vega-Manzo of Alexandria. 18-year-old Dominic Leo St Marie was identified as the driver of the civilian vehicle.
Snow and ice were present on I-94 at the time of the crash, the State Patrol says. The deputy and young man from Albany were both taken by ambulance to a hospital in Alexandria. Their injuries are being described as non-life-threatening.
