This popped up on my Pinterest board today and I about lost it. At first, I thought someone was out there dying pineapples pink and I was ready to DIY the crap out of a pineapple. Umm, hello, fun idea for my unicorn-loving niece. No dye necessary, as Lady Gaga would say, these are born this way!

Apparently, they are extremely rare and grow in "ultra-limited harvests" in the jungles of Costa Rica. That explains the price tag. Would you pay $50 to try one of these "jewels of the jungle?"

Del Monte says "Pinkglows have a delicious and unique taste, with notes of candy pineapple aromatics. It is also less sour than a traditional pineapple, juicier and sweeter in taste."

Ok, ok, I'm interested. Where can we get one? Sadly, we won't be seeing these on the shelves of Hy-Vee or Trader Joes. You can order them online though. Pinkglow.com has two different distributors you can order from - Melissa's or Tropical Fruit Box.

Is anybody else thinking of all the amazing cocktails you could make with a pink pineapple? No, just me? ;)
