The NFL was not impressed, so they upped the ante. The first attempt to keep everyone watching worked really well...with Michael Jackson!

Watching MJ's halftime show I'm way more impressed than I remember being. y 1992 take-away was, "They hand him a real microphone to talk? What about the microphones he's been using?" I was such an innocent.
