St. Paul, MN (KROC AM News) - Another county in southeastern Minnesota will soon be under an Emerald Ash Borer quarantine.

The Minnesota Department of Agriculture has confirmed the presence of the damaging green beetle in Wabasha County. The department says its staff found EAB larvae in an ash tree in southeastern Wabasha County after the State Department of Natural Resources alerted officials about the presence of some suspicious trees.

State officials say Wabasha County will be placed under the emergency quarantine, limiting the movement of firewood and ash wood material out of county.

11 Minnesota counties, including Olmsted, Winona, Fillmore and Houston counties are already under Emerald Ash Borer quarantines.
