Easy Trick To Test Your Batteries

I read somewhere that you can test a good and bad battery with one simple test. Simply take the battery and hold it about a half-inch from a hard surface and drop it lightly. If it stands up, the battery is still good. If it topples over, then the battery is bad. I decided to test the theory myself.

I found an old battery that I knew was no longer any good I took a brand new battery right out of the package and tried the 'battery drop test'. Surprisingly, it worked. There's no guarantee that it always works however. Earlier in the week I took a bad battery out of an old remote control and a new battery and neither one of them stood up, even after several tries.
