The mission of the Boys & Girls Club of Rochester is very clear. They want to enable all young people, especially those who need them most, to reach their full potential as productive, responsible and caring community members.

Every child deserves the opportunity to be successful and the Boys & Girls Club of Rochester helps build brighter lives for kids and a better community for all of us. Club programs and services impact the lives of thousands of young people every year. Kids participate in programs regarding education and career development, character and leadership, health and life skills, and the arts. They are able to do this at a wonderful facility called 'The Place'  at 1026 East Center Street, Rochester.

One way businesses can help the Boys & Girls Club is to participate in their annual 'Blue Jeans for Blue Doors' campaign. It's a fun program that companies can use for employee engagement while raising funds for the club. It's also a great way to boost employee morale and get them involved in the community.

Here’s how it works: Employees make a small donation, and they get to wear jeans during the week that they designate 'Blue Jeans for Blue Doors' week. If your employees wear blue jeans on a regular basis or you are not allowed to wear blue jeans, there are some creative spins on the concept which ultimately is all about philanthropy and helping kids. You could also choose to wear your favorite team colors...flip-flops...or simply wear blue to show your support.

They've even created a tool kit full of resources, including communication templates and turnkey graphics to use in your workplace. The Townsquare Media-Rochester staff was proud to participate in the campaign this week.
