Eating this Chicken Sandwich Is A Religious Experience
You'll find this amazing sandwich at a new restaurant in town, Cameo on Broadway (at the Castle, you know, the former Senior Center). Is it the best in town? That's for you to decide, but I can say I had a religious experience eating it. And the same with my friend. Jon. He and I agreed...it is heavenly.
In the interest of full disclosure, this restaurant buys advertising on Townsquare Media and I've voiced a commercial for them.
Jon said, "Cameo's doing lunches now, let's go try their new chicken sandwich." It's a Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich and it has gochujang mayo (mayo blended with gochujang, which is savory, sweet, and spicy...full of flavor, but not too hot at all), pickles, and napa cabbage slaw.
On the first bite, my mouth felt alive. The chicken was perfectly breaded and deep-fried, the mayo and the slaw combined perfectly, and there was just a touch of heat. I stay away from spicy hot foods (Tobasco is too much for me), and the heat in this, plus the flavors? Perfect. It took all my strength not to wolf it down.
So, chicken sammiches I love in Rochester in order =
- Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich - Cameo
- Fried Chicken Sandwich - Porch
- Chicken Sandwich - Brothers Bar and Grill
- McChicken - McDonald's
it was my first time in Cameo, so I took some extra pictures. What a beautiful remodel!
