Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The head of the Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank and a former Minnesota Supreme Court Justice will be meeting with students at two Rochester schools on Friday.

A news release says Neel Kashkari of the Federal Reserve, former Minnesota Vikings star and Supreme Court member Alan Page, along with Minnesota Humanities Center CEO Kevin Lindsey are scheduled to visit Gage Elementary and Mayo High Schools. They plan to read to students at the elementary school and then participate in a "community conversation."

The session, which will include Rochester Public Schools Superintendent Kent Pekel, will focus on educational inequities in Minnesota. For several years, Page and Kashkari, have been leading a push to amend the state constitution. The proposed "Page Amendment" would provide all children with a civil right to quality public education.

Due to COVID-19 protocols, attendance will be limited to the participants and students involved in the Rochester Community Initiative. It will be live-streamed to the public. Anyone wishing to view the live stream is asked to register through this link.
