Elgin Man Left Kids in Hot Car
Rochester,MN (KROC AM News) - The Rochester Police Department’s report on an incident last weekend in the parking lot of the Menard’s south store recommends neglect charges be filed against an Elgin man.
A spokesman says the 44-year-old man is accused of leaving his 2 young children inside his vehicle with the windows closed while he went into the store on Sunday. A passerby alerted officers to the situation and they were able to convince one of the children, who are 8 and 2 years old, to unlock the doors to the vehicle.
It was around 85 degrees at the time and police estimate the father was inside the store for at least 45 minutes.
