
Law Enforcement Captures Teen Who Escaped Deputy at Twin Cities Detention Facility
Mankato, MN (KROC-AM News)- The southern Minnesota teenager who escaped law enforcement custody last month has been captured.

He was on the run for more than three weeks. The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office reported he fled authorities in the Twin Cities on January 27.
The juvenile, who was originally detained by the Mankato Department of Public Safety, escaped while being transferred to a juvenile detention facility in Chaska.

Authorities identified the escaped teen as 17-year-old Damario Dayshawn Latravis Williams.
Williams was not wearing restraints and fled from the deputy as the two were walking from the squad to the detention facility, authorities say. An immediate search was not successful.

On Monday the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office reported that Williams was captured.
Members of the Mankato Department of Public Safety and local investigators captured Williams at a private residence in Mankato shortly before 5 p.m., a Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office news release says.
Law enforcement found him after receiving an anonymous tip.
Williams was taken into custody without incident and is being held in detention pending a court appearance, officials say.
The charge or charges that led to Williams originally being detained have not been disclosed.
