Additional Information

The Von Wald Group Home has served over 3,000 southeastern Minnesota youth and their families since opening in 1989. In 2017 alone the Von Wald Group Home helped 193 teens and their families address serious crises in their lives.

The youth who come to the 180 Degrees’ Von Wald Group Home in Rochester, MN have already experienced a lot— from violence or trauma at home, difficulties at school, and even the juvenile justice system. If the group home did not exist, these young people would be reduced to living on the streets or entering juvenile detention for minor offensives.

From the intake assessment to completing their residency, youth have an appropriate degree of autonomy to work on aspects of their lives. This approach supports engagement and builds decision-making skills. Youth learn to evaluate the benefits and consequences of their choices. The supportive, structured environment teaches youth the essential skills they need to navigate the rest of their lives.

The Von Wald Group Home has been selected from more than 2128 charitable organizations across the country to compete in Brackets For Good 2018. Starting Friday, March 2, the Von Wald Group Home will rally supporters to advance in an online single-elimination bracket-style fundraising tournament with a grand prize of $10,000. Each week Von Wald will battle another Minnesota Non-Profit. The March 23rd rallying event will be held regardless of where Von Wald stands in the Brackets For Good competition. March 23rd beginning at 4PM, we are planning, trivia, raffles, silent auction, contests, and live music at the Brother's Bar & Grill in Rochester. Festivities will be going until around 1030PM. The opening act begins at 630PM - Annie Mack followed by Slim Willie and the Ride at 8PM.
