Did you notice that Facebook went offline last Friday?  People here at the station were buzzing about the fact that they couldn't log on.  And apparently the rest of the world freaked out a bit, too.  Although Facebook was down for only about 19 minutes, people panicked to the point of actually calling 911 to ask the police for help.

The police department in La Crescenta, California even went on Twitter and wrote, quote, "Facebook is not a law enforcement issue, please don't call us about it being down, we don't know when [it] will be back up."

It's estimated that those 19 minutes cost Facebook over $426,000, or about $22,000 per mintue.
