
16-Year-Old Girl Killed in Head-on Crash on Hwy. 169 in Southern Minnesota
A northbound car and southbound pick-up truck collided on the two-lane highway
Vernon Center, MN (KROC-AM News)- A teenage girl lost her life in a southern Minnesota crash.

The State Patrol responded to the fatality shortly after 6:00 Thursday evening.
Two vehicles were involved in the deadly crash. The drivers were the only people occupying the vehicles.

16-Year-Old Girl Killed in Crash With Pick-up on Hwy. 169 in Blue Earth County, MN
The fatal crash occurred on Hwy. 169 near the intersection of 150th Ave. near Vernon Center, which is about 20 miles southwest of Mankato.
A northbound car and southbound pick-up truck collided on the two-lane highway, the state crash report says. A 16-year-old girl from Vernon Center was driving the car, according to the State Patrol.

The State Patrol says she was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.
31-year-old Alexei Moreira was identified as the pick-up driver. The Houston, TX man was not hurt, the State Patrol says.

Both drivers were buckled up and alcohol was not involved in the deadly crash, the state crash report indicates.
The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office and Vernon Center Fire Department also responded to the deadly crash.
