An SUV was traveling south in the northbound lanes of the freeway when it collided with a northbound pick-up, the state crash report says.

Inver Grove Heights, MN (MinnesotaNow)- A wrong-way driver was involved in a fatal crash on Hwy. 52 Tuesday night.

That’s according to the State Patrol, which says the deadly collision occurred shortly before 10 p.m.

Two vehicles were involved in the deadly crash. The drivers were the only occupants.

The State Patrol is identifying the SUV driver as 80-year-old Phillis Lucille Deboth from Cottage Grove

60-year-old Rickey Allen Braatz from Birchwood, WI was behind the wheel of the pick-up truck, the State Patrol says.

The updated state crash report says Deboth was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. She was not buckled up.

Braatz was taken to Regions Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The State Patrol also says alcohol was not involved in the deadly crash.
