Jacksonville, FL (KROC-AM News) - The FBI has issued a nationwide alert asking the public for help in identifying hundreds of victims of a Florida man, who is now serving an over 100 year prison sentence for child pornography convictions.

Officials say 26-year-old Lucas Chansler has admitted victimizing around 350 teenage girls throughout the United States. He would pretend to be a 15-year-old boy online and convinced girls in their early teenage years to expose themselves during video chats. Chansler would then use screen capture photos from those sessions to extort the victims into sending him even more explicit photos of themselves by threatening to post the earlier nude photos on internet sites.

Of the 109 victims that have been identified by investigators, a half dozen were found in Minnesota, including at least one in the Rochester area. The FBI says it has reason to believe there are other victims in Minnesota and Special Agent Larry Meyer says they need to be told of Chansler’s fate so “that this dark period of their lives is over.” Meyer also notes there the nearly 250 unidentified victims likely have not had closure or obtained counseling and other help.
