Fire Breaks Out at NW Rochester Residence

Rochester,MN (KROC AM News) -  Rochester firefighters were called to a northwest home Sunday morning to deal with a garage fire.  

It was reported around 11 a.m. at 1016 14th St NW, near the south side of Assisi Heights.

A spokesman says the detached garage was fully engulfed when crews arrived. A section of 11th Ave was closed for about half an hour as  a water supply hose was crossing the street while firefighters were battling the blaze.  

There was heavy fire and smoke damage to the garage and a vehicle. The preliminary damage estimate was put at $50,000.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
