Flags at Half Staff in Minnesota for Fallen St. Paul Police Officer Who Was Wounded in 2010 Line-of-Duty Assault

On March 24, 2010, Officer Felicia Reilly suffered significant injuries in what the St. Paul Police Department describes as a vicious assault in the line of duty.

Officer Reilly’s wounds forced her to retire from the force in 2013. She passed away on Saturday, March 1 at the age of 67.

A statement released Monday by St. Paul Police Chief Axel Henry says Officer Reilly will receive, “the full honors she deserves with a line of duty death funeral, given how she was viciously assaulted in 2010 and for her bravery over the last 15 years fighting the injuries that ultimately led to her tragic death.”

Henry also says the double jeopardy clause of the U.S. Constitution prevents the charges against Officer Reilly’s attacker from being amended or upgraded.

Officer Rielly’s funeral will be live streamed starting at 10:45 a.m. Monday. The procession is scheduled to leave the church around noon.

The 25 States Sending The Most People To Live In Minnesota

There's a lot of talk in recent years about people throughout the country trying to find the perfect climate haven, which is a place that is more desirable due to climate change.

People who experience extreme, damaging weather or natural events seek places that are more stable and have access to clean, abundant water sources. Minnesota is often discussed as a great option for those looking for a climate haven.

So, does this mean people are moving to Minnesota in droves from places like California and Florida?

Stacker utilized data from the Census Bureau and compiled a list of the states where most people who move to Minnesota are coming from as recently as 2022.

It will be interesting to see if the rankings look the same a few years from now as the talk of climate havens will likely increase.
