According to Gallup, 28% of us have lost confidence in our government's ability to help keep our food safe. A study in 2022 by Pew Research Center found an even higher number - 44% of Americans worry a fair amount or a great deal about the safety of our food supply.
Food recalls posted on the FDA.gov have quite a few items listed with mislabeled ingredients or that accidentally contain broken pieces of plastic or rocks.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, every year in the United States, about 48 million people get sick from foodborne illnesses.
And then, there is a whole other issue that no one wants to talk about...bugs in our food.
The truth is, there are quite a few items that we eat every day that are considered "safe" to eat by our government, even though a percentage of bugs have been found in them. And...this isn't chocolate-covered crickets that you decided to eat on a dare. Our government has allowed food to be sold with these parameters.
