Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The latest COVID-19 pandemic report from the Minnesota Department of Health includes the coronavirus-related deaths of four Olmsted County residents.

The deaths, reported to the state health department on Friday, involved two people in their late 80s, one person in their late 70s, and another individual in their late 90s. There have now been 75 coronavirus related deaths in Olmsted County since the beginning of the pandemic.

Overall, the state received 37 reports of deaths involving people who had contracted COVID-19 on Friday. In addition to the Rochester area deaths, Friday's list also included deaths in Wabasha and Mower Counties.

Just under 1530 new COVID-19 cases were reported across Minnesota, including 40 new infections found in Olmsted County. Approximately 27,600 COVID tests were completed Friday and the daily testing positivity rate was about 5.5 percent.
