Funeral Held for Fallen Minnesota Soldier
Washington D.C. (KROC-AM News) - Senator Amy Klobuchar was among the mourners who gathered Tuesday morning at Arlington National Cemetery for a fallen Minnesota soldier’s funeral.
The Senator posted a tribute to Major Adrianna Vorderbruggen on Facebook and on the floor of the U.S. Senate following the memorial service.
The 36-year-old Plymouth woman and 5 other US service members were killed during a Taliban suicide attack in Afghanistan in late December.
Vorderbruggen was known as a vocal supporter of gay rights and was believed to be the first openly gay female US military officer to be killed in combat.
