Grand Opening For Mayo’s Support Center Expansion Project
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A grand opening is scheduled Tuesday to mark the expansion of Mayo Clinic’s Superior Drive Support Center in northwest Rochester.
Groundbreaking for the project took place on this date (Aug 18) last year.
The expansion has added three floors and nearly 60,000 gross square feet of clinical laboratory space for Mayo’s Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology.
Mayo describes the facility as one of the world’s largest and most sophisticated operations of its type.
The expansion has allowed Mayo to move three labs at its Hilton Building to the expanded facility, which will free up space at the downtown site.
The grand opening event will begin at 2 p.m. An Open House will take place from 3 - 7 p.m.
The facility is located at 3050 Superior Dr. NW, at the intersection of West Circle Dr and Valleyhigh Rd .
