Happy 100th Anniversary to a Minnesota Legend
Getting laid off as a mine worker didn't keep this man down. On this date in 1914, Carl "Eric" Wickman began using his beat-up gray car (a 7-seat 'Hupmobile'),
which no one would buy, to take miners from their homes to mines in Minnesota. His "taxi" service took off, and he was soon able to buy more cars to service the mineworkers in Hibbing. His little business is now known as the GREYHOUND BUS CORPORATION.
