
Dakota County Sheriff’s Office: Victim Rescued, Suspect Hospitalized After Standoff Near Hastings

Hastings, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities rescued a victim during a standoff that ended with the suspect going to the hospital.

That’s according to the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office, which says the suspect was not injured by deputies actions. So far limited information is available.
The incident began with the report of a disturbance involving a firearm around 12:30 Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies respond to the reported armed disturbance at a property in the 15000 block of Dakota County Rd. 54, which is about six miles southeast of Hastings.
Upon arrival, law enforcement made contact and evacuated a person described as the victim.
An occupant then barricaded himself in the residence and officials summoned the South Metro SWAT Team to the scene, the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office says.
Just under four hours after arriving at the residence, the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office reported that the situation had been resolved.
The man believed to be the suspect has not been identified and information about how the standoff ended has not been released. An update on the suspect’s condition is not available.
Law enforcement remained at the scene to conduct an investigation, authorities said. The nature of the investigation has not been disclosed.
