Hayfield, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota State Patrol has released the name of the Dodge Center man who was killed in an early morning crash near Hayfield.

66-year-old Severt Fiksen was driving a car south on Highway 56 about two miles north of Hayfield when he collided head on with a northbound pickup.

The State Patrol says the driver of the pickup, 19-year-old Timothy Tlougan of Hayfield, was attempting to pass another vehicle when the crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. He was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital with serious injuries.

Dense fog blanketed much of the region early Tuesday morning, but it’s unclear if contributed to the deadly crash.
