Rochester MN (KROC AM News) - The Rochester City Council holds its first meeting of the New Year Monday evening, which will include the annual State of the City Address by Mayor Ardell Brede and comments concerning the coming year from City Council President Randy Staver.

The Council President will also be presenting a list of appointments of the members of the City Council to various committees and commissions for approval. One them stands out. First Ward City Councilmember Ed Hruska is about to be the second original member of the Destination Medical Center Corporation Board to depart, and Staver is requesting Fifth Ward Councilmember Mark Hickey be approved as his replacement.

The Mayo Clinic recently named Michael Dougherty to the DMCC Board to succeed former Medtronic CEO Bill George as Mayo’s DMCC representative.
