Wisconsin Woman Scammed Out Of Her Savings
WAOW reports that a woman in Chippewa County was scammed out of her life savings. She got a phone call from what she thought was her daughter. Her daughter was crying because she had been in an accident and rear-ended somebody.

Her daughter went on to say that she injured a politician in the crash and she was being arrested. Then, her AI created lawyer called the mother asking for money, or she was going to be going to jail. They sent someone to the house to pick up the money, and told the woman she couldn't take about it because of a gag order.

It kept happening - the fake lawyer called her several times and she kept withdrawing money until the Credit Union raised an alarm and told her she was likely being scammed.
AI Scams Target Parents, Grandparents, & Other Family Members
Another common scam is that a grandkid will call their grandparents and say they are in trouble and need money. They say, "Don't tell my mom or dad because I'll be in even more trouble." Then it goes on from there.
Establish a code word with your parents and grandparents.
Come up with a code word or phrase that isn't linked to your electronic devices. Inform your loved ones about the type of scam that's happening with AI voice technology, because it's just going to get worse.
