Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - If all goes as planned, a traffic hassle in downtown Rochester will disappear this weekend.

The city Public Works Dept. says workers are expected to remove the barriers and barricades on Broadway in front of the Hilton Hotel project.

They have been there since the fall of 2017 and restricted northbound traffic to one lane between Center and 2nd streets.

The work is expected to begin late Friday evening and continue into Saturday. The department says the barriers are “scheduled to be totally removed by the end of the day Saturday.”

The department notes previous restrictions in the 10 block of East Center St. will remain in place until further notice, likely next spring.
