Remember that one drink you just had to have last year? The one you couldn’t get enough of? Well, if you haven’t stocked up yet, you might want to start looking because it could be gone from Minnesota stores for good, if not already, very soon.

Every year, major beverage companies like PepsiCo and Coca-Cola introduce dozens, sometimes even hundreds, of new drinks to the market. But not every new product gets to stick around. Many of these wild new flavors or seasonal specials quietly disappear like they were never even here.

The reasons behind a new drink getting kicked off the shelves vary. Maybe people just weren’t feeling it, or the drink only showed up in a few stores and never got its big break. Sometimes it’s just not that good and flops hard.

Alcohol and Soda Losing Popularity

Soda and alcohol in general seem to be taking a hit as more and more people are going for healthier, lighter options. I know in my house, we’ve been making a conscious effort to ditch the sugary sodas and calorie-heavy drinks replacing them with sparkling waters, seltzers, and healthier sodas like Poppi. It turns out, we’re not alone.

According to a 2024 beverage trends report, seltzer sales are up 16%, and fruit juice has seen an 8% boost, while traditional soft drinks, beer, wine, and spirits are all declining in popularity.

15 Discontinued Snack Chips In 2025

Frito-Lay makes some of the most popular snacks in America, and it seems that every year, they introduce new twists on their top brands that feature unique flavors.

It can be fun to venture out of your comfort zone and try new things and those new things can sometimes become new favorites. However, there is no guarantee that the new snacks will stick around for very long, which can be disappointing.

Sporked recently uncovered 15 snacks that Frito-Lay plans on discontinuing in 2025, and they include some of my favorites. If some of your favorites are on this list, you better stock up if you still see them on store shelves and enjoy them while you can.

Perhaps if fans of snacks being discontinued protest, Frito-Lay will change its mind.
