I have good news and I have bad news! The bad news is that nobody wants their home to be called the ugliest in America, right? The good news is that you actually get rewarded when it's given that title by HGTV!

St. Cloud Home Featured On HGTV Hit

You may remember that this St. Cloud staple was featured on the season five premiere of Ugliest House In America earlier this month, along with a few other wacky and different homes in the midwest.

Each house featured in the episode had a chance to be called the ugliest and in turn, get a hefty check of $150,000 to do some updating and repairs. Our cute little St. Cloud bungalow got the check and the title.

Look At It Now!

Part of the premise of this show is that the home dubbed the ugliest in America gets a makeover by a professional: Alison Victoria from another HGTV hit. She absolutely killed the remodel here. The show is hosted by comedian and actress Retta.

Really, this home had good bones but it just needed a little updating since the colors and design choices were a little out there. You can take a little tour of the new space now online via HGTV's website.

About This Epic Home

This newly-restored bungalow was purchased by two men who bought it sight-unseen for a quarter of a million bucks! At first, they liked that it stuck out amongst the other homes in the area but soon regretted their decision.

The good news is that now they have this beautiful new home at 630 Riverside Drive SE. This home was built in 1940 so on top of having a new look, it is also historic. Looks like being the ugliest house in America pays off!
