Forget Anoka: These 2 Wisconsin Cities Are Among Best Halloween Towns In America
It is officially spooky season, which is by far my favorite time of the year! I have no plans on moving but if I did, I might consider one of the cities on this new list.
Only In Your State has named America's Best 'Halloween Towns' at the moment, giving twenty places in the U.S. this coveted title. In my world, this is one of the best titles you could even get.

Sadly, Minnesota didn't make the list at all, which is strange when you consider it is technically home to the 'Halloween capital' of the world. While it isn't the spookiest town ever, it has been rocking this title for quite some time.
Anoka needs to move over and make some room because two Wisconsin cities have made the list of the best Halloween towns and I am planning two road trips immediately.

You may have guessed which cities made the list: Milwaukee and Madison! In this case, those that put together this list only took the 75 biggest cities in the country into consideration, which is why no smaller cities made the list.

Milwaukee came in at number ten, while Madison came in at number twenty on the list. Milwaukee did well here because it is third in the country when it comes to Halloween-related internet searches, and has the sixth most parties and events for the holiday per capita.
As if that wasn't enough, Milwaukee also has about five haunted house attractions per every 100,000 people, which places it in the top fifteen. I didn't know Milwaukee had such spooky vibes!

As for Madison, they aren't quite as spooky - but still spookier than the rest, coming in at number twenty on this list. Organizers of this list also looked at how many Spirit Halloween stores there were per city (lucky!) and how many 'real' haunted houses there are in each area.

They also looked at how many candy and costume stores there are per capita, haunted attractions and pumpkin patches per capita and fall weather, which is a huge factor when considering a spookiness level. It really sets the scene!

If you want the ultimate spooky experience, head to Salt Lake City, which has been named the best Halloween town in the country. Riverside, California and Hartford, Connecticut round out the top three. I guess a vacation is in my future!
