A Wisconsin Bar Will Pay Patrons’ Bar Tabs Every Time Aaron Rodgers Loses This Season
Even after 18 years with the Packers, this Wisconsin bar is clearly very ready to move on from Aaron Rodgers.
After a somewhat tumultuous end to his lengthy tenure with the Green Bay Packers, Aaron Rodgers pushed for a trade to the New York Jets over the offseason after a disappointing 2022 campaign.
As Rodgers gets ready to start his first season away from the Packers, Jack's American Pub in Milwaukee, Wisconsin developed a promotion aimed at celebrating when the former Packers quarterback fails to win this season. I think even Vikings fans could get behind this!
So, here's how it works:
Jack's American Pub shared via a recurring Facebook event that they'll pick up the tab for everyone in the bar every time the Jets lose this season. You'll have to be at the bar, start a tab before the Jets game, and watch the game at the bar. If the Jets lose, your tab is on the bar!
There is a little fine print, however. Those specifics include:
- Aaron Rodgers must be starting
- A new tab must be started 15 minutes before the game
- The Jets must lose to get your drink tab paid for
- You must be present for the entire game to get your drink tab paid for
- Food is not covered in this deal
- Top-shelf liquor will not be covered as part of this deal
- The offer is not valid if the Jets play at the same time as the Packers
That last point about not being valid if the Jets and Packers play at the same time was left kind of open-ended. How many times are the Packers and Jets playing at the same time this season? Thankfully only three times.
- Week 3 (9/24 at noon)
- Week 15 (12/17 at noon)
- Week 16 (12/24 at noon)
While Rodgers is coming off his worst season as a starter, there are a lot of unknowns that make this a pretty sizable financial gamble if the quarterback continues to regress as he finishes his career. There is a lot of excitement about the players around Rodgers this year and his reunion with Nathaniel Hackett, but that doesn't guarantee anything.
While the promotion seems on its face to be rooting against the Jets to spite the former Packers quarterback, maybe it is secretly a way to root for Rodgers to succeed this season so the bar doesn't lose a bunch of money.
