Minnesota Sherriff’s Office Shares Snowmobile Rules That Only Minnesotans Will Understand

One County Sherriff's Office in Minnesota shared Snowmobile rules of the road in a hilarious post that only Minnesotans will understand.

Winter is in full swing and the Benton County Sherriff's office was trying to find a helpful way for people to easily understand the rules of snowmobiling. Cities in Benton County include:

• Foley
• Gilman
• Rice
• Ronneby
• Sauk Rapids

If you combine all the cities together, you'll get a population of around 41,000. But these rules don't apply to just this county, the entire state will be able to understand these rules the way the Sherriff's Office decided to explain them.

According to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, there are over 22,000 miles of groomed snowmobile trails. On top of that, there are over 21,000 miles maintained by local snowmobile club volunteers.

So how exactly did the Sherriff's Office explain the proper rules? In the best Minnesota way possible:

Travel lanes

"No way Jose, 'cept if you're gonna go straight across"

"If you have to, for a little bit, I guess that's OK"

I think these are absolutely spot on. However, I probably would have said hotdish instead of a casserole. After all the rules of snowmobiling can get a little complex.
