I'm always curious to know how people cook traditional holiday meals, in particular the main course like the turkey at Thanksgiving.

Many years back the popular thing became deep frying the bird, which is delicious if done right and even more delicious if injected with flavors like garlic butter.  It also can be a dangerous way to cook the bird if not completely thawed or dried off when put into the hot oil.

More recently putting a turkey on a Traeger type grill has gained some popularity and I've had a few birds cooked on those that were quite nice.

My mother does hers in the oven, which is the older school way, and my dad appreciates that.  My mom started using the turkey cooking bags a few years back and that really helps with locking in the juices and flavors.

I have tried smoking turkeys in my Masterbuilt Electric Smoker and those have turned out decently, though I'm still trying to perfect that process.  So, if you have any recipes or suggestions for smoking one, please let me know.

I'm personally torn, I think a properly deep-fried turkey is the way to go, but it's also hard to beat the traditional oven cooked bird.
