
14-Year-Old Girl Killed While Walking on Minnesota Highway
Grand Rapids, MN (KROC-AM News) - A 14-year-old girl was killed early today when she was struck by a car in northern Minnesota.
The State Patrol says Dakota Kimberly Jones and 13-year-old Aubrey Martin were walking on Highway 169 when they were struck by the vehicle just before 1:30 AM. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene, while the younger girl was airlifted to a hospital in Duluth with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.

The State Patrol report did not list either girl's hometown.
The driver of the car was identified as 18-year-old Matthew Tombeck of Marble. The State Patrol reported that he and his 21-year-old passenger were not injured.
The deadly incident occurred in Itasca County about 3 miles northwest of Grand Rapids.
